Can you trust us to do what we say we will do? The answer is yes. We have been doing business the way we like business done for twenty years and will continue that way. The internet has made it easier for our customers to find us but hasn't changed much else. You can also trust us not to take advantage of you if you make a mistake on the order form. We have had a couple of people frantically calling and e-mailing us after mistakenly putting the price in the quantity field. We will e-mail you before we ship, if your order looks incorrect. How do I place a secure order? The shopping cart is secure. Go to our shopping cart by clicking the catalog link below. If you feel more comfortable providing us your credit card info over the phone or through a fax by all means call or fax us your info. [Catalog] [Return to top of page] Will you ship my order COD? No, COD cost too much. [Return to top of page] How soon will my order ship out? Orders generally ship out by the day after we receive the order. We try our best to keep adequate stock in house: However, occasionally we have to back order an item(s). If an item is back ordered, we ship the back-ordered item out the same day or the day after we receive our stock shipment. |Return to top of page| What is the cost of shipping? The standard shipping charge for any one order in the contiguous US is $5.00. No matter how many books, tools or belt buckles you order, the shipping charge is $5.00. If you live outside the contiguous US shipping, e-mail us a list of the books and tools you want and your country so we can calculate what the shipping cost will be for your order. For expedited shipping, see the next paragraph. If you pay by Wire Transfer, there is a $35 charge to take care of an internal charge within the banking system. [Return to top of page] Is expedited shipping available? Expedited shipping is available. The charge is actual carrier (USPS, UPS, Fedex, etc.) posted cost plus $2.00. Sometimes when you place an order requesting expedited shipping, we may not immediately know the exact shipping cost. Unless you request a specific shipper, we try to be cost effective when matching the request to the shipper. The shippers we use are: FedEx, UPS, and US Postal Service. Call us for a cost range for your expedited shipping request or we can e-mail you the actual cost. We try to get the best service for the best cost for our customers. [Return to top of page] Are there any other costs? A 8% state tax amount will be added if you are a North Carolina resident. NC companies must supply us with a tax exempt certificate to avoid being charged the 8% state tax amount. International customers may have a duty/tariff charged by their country customs office based on the total value. These fees are the buyers responsibility and are not included in the charges by Construction Trades Press, LLC. Orders are generally shipped out by either UPS or US Postal Service priority mail. We look at each order individually and determine the best means of shipping. For instance: We are in North Carolina, so small orders to let's say California are quicker with priority mail than UPS ground, so small orders will ship priority mail (2 to 3 day delivery time.) However, sending the heavier tools and multi-item orders are sometimes cost prohibitive with priority mail, so we ship those UPS. Another example is Virginia. Some parts of Virginia are in our next day range, so because of the speed of delivery, even small items may ship UPS. When you order on-line and/or give us a e-mail address, we e-mail you to let you know when the order shipped out, by what means and when you should expect to receive it. How do I determine shipping cost outside the contiguous United States, including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico?
We will notify international customers via e-mail the total amount of the order, including shipping when we are supplied an e-mail address from you. Duty/tariff customs charges and bank charges are your responsibility. We communicate internationally by e-mail. Please don't ask us to send international faxes or make telephone calls. One fax or call often will cost more than any profit we might make on an order. We only will send trackable packages internationally, so they are naturally more expensive. If you want to accept the respnsibility for lost, damaged, or opened package beyond our borders, then we will ship by less expensive means. What this means is that once the package crosses the US border, it's yours totally. We will not refund for any reason. We also will not be responsible for custom charges of any kind.Do you accept any other currency besides US funds? No. Funds conversion and bank charges are your responsibility. Credit Card orders are easier because the money is converted automatically by the credit card company. Payment for international orders over $750 must be made by wire transfer. How can my company establish an account with pipefitter.com? If you are a US or Canadian company that would like to establish an account with us, please mail or fax us your company's credit or trade reference information. If you are not satisfied with the product received from us, please call or email us within thirty days for a Return Authorization Number. If the product is returned in saleable condition, we will refund your purchase price. (Part of saleable condition clause means that you have not etched your initials in the tool or written in the book.) The exclusion to this policy is the computer program, Fishmouth Computer Calculated Measures - (C101). We cannot take returns for this program once you have broken the seal.
